About the real people behind In Uniform

Logan Akers, the driving force behind In Uniform (NZ) Limited is a professional Fire-fighter, proud to work in uniform. Based in Lower Hutt he has a wildly varied and interesting background. Living in both South America and Antarctica for a year each, experiencing different cultures and a very different way of life. He has also travelled for a year with his wife, Keryn, visiting 24 countries in 12 months.

Logan started his first business at 18 - which was a massive learning experience, but worked most of his school life - from sweeping forecourts to stacking veggies. Logan learnt from each experience; customer service, making things right, getting it right the first time. Believing in the win-win philosophy he is determined to enhance the way the 120,000+ uniformed staff members in New Zealand spend their hard earned income.

Having spent more than 20 years in retail, before and since joining the Fire Service, Logan understands the strain on businesses and particularly on margins in the current climate.

Kayaking, tramping, skiing, mountain biking and trail running keep Logan busy when he is not working on one of many projects.
